Over the past few decades, the global LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning and other sexual orientations & genders) community has taken huge steps in acceptance and visibility. Gay pride events, parades and parties in cities all over the globe accelerated this progress significantly. Nowadays June is even named ‘Pride Month’, a month filled with Pride celebrations. This year it’s also the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, who started the modern LGBTQ+ movement. So there are more Pride events than ever before. With so many celebrations, you might be wondering what’s the place to be. We’ve made a top 10 Pride events around the world, which are definitely worth visiting in 2019.
EuroPride Vienna 2019
When: 1-16 June
This year, Vienna has been selected to host the EuroPride 2019, with the motto “Visions of Pride”. Over a million people are expected to attend the event. It’s held in the city center of Austria around the City Hall square from June 1st-16th, with the colorful Rainbow Parade on Saturday, June 15th. The annual Life Ball, which raises money for HIV and AIDS charities, is where you’ll often find celebrities and DJs from around the world.
Pride in London 2019
When: 8 June – 6 July
Pride in London is run by a group of volunteers who are passionate about supporting the LGBTQ+ community. Pride in London is the biggest, most diverse pride in the United Kingdom. For example they organise Pride’s Got Talent, which helps to showcase the creativity across the community. But they also have an annual parade through the heart of the West End and a two-week city-wide Festival. Everything is designed to give the LGBTQ+ community a platform to be visible.
Tel Aviv Pride 2019
When: 14 June
Tel Aviv, one of the world’s most popular gay summer destinations, hosts its annual Pride parade on June 14th, 2019, with tens of thousands of participants from all over the world. The parade will take you along the beautiful streets of Tel Aviv towards the city’s Charles Clore beach, where the famous beach party will be held. Live shows, bars and an amazing view of Tel Aviv blue beaches will make you wanna party all day long. And if that’s not enough, you can purchase a special bracelet that gives you access to extravagant round-the-clock parties.
World Pride NYC 2019
When: 1-30 June
Honoring the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, NYC Pride is the first WorldPride host in the United States. The event will welcome millions of domestic and international LGTBQ+ guests to New York City. All this to honor and celebrate the Pride movement at the same location where the modern movement began in 1969.
NYC Pride has some never-before-seen activities and events, alongside special editions of iconic events, such as the March, the Rally and Pride Island. This year’s theme is ‘’Millions of Moments of Pride’’. It represents the invaluable and countless experiences every person encounters during annual celebrations around the world. Also, Madonna is performing.

Madrid Pride 2019
When 27 June – 7 July
Madrid Pride ‘MADO’ is the largest and one of the most popular Gay Pride events in Spain. It’s attracting two million people each year. This year, the 10-day festival runs from June 27th-July 7th, with the LGBTQ+ Parade on Saturday, July 6th. Expect fantastic shows, activities, dance parties, club nights, lots of food, drinks and fun surprises under the Mediterranean sun.
San Fransisco Pride 2019
When: 29 & 30 June
San Francisco Pride holds one of the oldest annual LGBTQ+ parades in the world. Hundreds of thousands of people flood into the city every year to experience the parade. And to immerse themselves in the celebrations. The festival includes 20+ live stages at the Civic Centre Plaza, showcasing the diverse talent within the LGBTQ+ community in San Francisco and beyond. This makes the San Francisco Pride Celebration and Parade the largest gathering of the LGBTQ+ community and allies in the United States. The annual parade will be on Sunday.
CSD Berlin 2019
When: 20-27 July
The pride in Berlin is a combination of a parade and a festival celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. CSD stands for Christopher Street Day and is one of the largest gay and lesbian organized events in Germany and even one of the biggest in Europe.
The Lesbian & Gay City Festival (Stadtfest) attracts hundreds of thousands of participants to Berlin each year. This 27th annual festival starts on Saturday, July 20th and continues until Sunday. Parties and activities are held around Nollendorfplatz stationi in Schöneberg gay village. The parade for Berlin Pride 2019 takes place around Kurfürstendamm street on Saturday, July 27th. Pride celebrations and the parade continue to campaign for equal rights and same-sex marriage. But you’ll find plenty of street festivals and parties across the city as well.
Pride Amsterdam 2019
When: 27 July – 4 August
Kicking off the Amsterdam Pride, Milkshake Festival will bring all the LBTQs to the yard in the weekend of 27 and 28 July. Milkshake is more than your average festival. It’s an event in Amsterdam’s Westerpark with a clear message. It’s all about respect, freedom, love and tolerance as well as encouraging out of the box thinking.
Milkshake Festival is one of Europe’s most popular gay event. Pride Amsterdam 2019 will be held from July 27th-August 4th, with the parade on August 3rd. Unlike most cities, this one takes place on the canals of Amsterdam. The 80 most beautiful, decorated boats will sail through the city center, with 500,000+ spectators for participation in the 24th Canal Parade. Other fun-filled activities and (street) parties are to be expected across the city as well, particularly in Reguliersdwarsstraat, Amstel, Dam and Rembrandtplein areas.
Malta Pride 2019
When: 6-15 September
After given the title of European Capital of Culture in 2018, Malta is on everyone’s LGBTQ+ travel list. The country is open towards the community. In fact, Malta has one of the best rights for LGBTQ+. Of course, the dreamy island vibe makes it even more fun to celebrate Pride in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. At the end of the summer different events will be organised, such as festivals, conferences, fashion nights, concerts and, of course, a colorful parade. Another highlight of this weeklong festival is the after-Pride dance party, featuring top local & international DJ’s and performers. Malta might be small in size, but its pride is larger than life!
Winter Pride Maspalomas 2019
When: 4-10 Nov
The last gay Pride celebration we recommend to visit this year is one week of amazing LGBTQ+ events. Winter Pride Maspalomas has it all: live shows with international artists, pool parties, boat excursions, parade and dance sessions. All this in an open-air environment at an average temperature of 23°. In 2019, the 6th edition of Winter Pride Maspalomas will be held from November 4th-10th, featuring 2Unlimited, Cristina Ramos and more artists to be confirmed. Gran Canaria is waiting for you!
