As we see it Halloween isn’t Halloween until you’ve decked yourself out in the costume of all costumes. Though, we also respect that not everyone is willing to spend seven weeks plotting a costume to wear for seven hours and then get completely destroyed at a raging Halloween party. But we’re not going to give up on you just yet!
Halloween is about channeling your inner child and letting your imagination run wild while you recklessly trick-or-treat like it’s 1997. So, to help you on your way to Halloween success, we’ve put together a comprehensive list of Halloween costume ideas for men so you don’t roll up dressed as bootleg Spider-Man and embarrass the entire human race.
Dashing and Debonair:
There will always be a controversy over what to wear on Halloween, a fun or formal ensemble? When it came to compiling a list of Halloween costume ideas for men, we said, why not both? You don’t have to look any further than OppoSuits for a fun and formal debonair Halloween costume. If dressing up like a butterfly was never your thing and the idea of group costumes makes you kind of nauseous, then this is the category for you. We’re not telling you to sacrifice holiday spirit for your aesthetic because these suits blend a fitted silhouette with some spooky Halloween themes.
Some of our very own debonair costumes channel a classy James Bond vibe while letting you embrace your inner Halloween junkie. Take our Black-O Jack-O suit. This midnight back suit will have you cursing your arch nemesis because any figure in this suit is sure to be some type of double secret agent. But don’t be fooled, while you’ll strike a handsome figure in this suit, the orange bat pattern will definitely give you away as a sucker for Halloween. And don’t tell us we didn’t warn you: once you go debonair for Halloween, you never go back!
It Couldn’t get Punnier:
Puns! Puns are huge on Halloween. You’ve got everyone and their mother trying to out-pun the next guy (and his mother), and we’re constantly fascinated by the creative plethora of pun themed costumes that people cook up each year. We absolutely could not forget about the importance of pun costumes when creating a list for Halloween costume ideas for men. And while it may seem like you’re an uncreative blob when it comes to Halloween costumes, we’ve got some tips to incentivize you to create your own punny costumes. And if that’s not enough, we’ve put together a list inside a list of our favorite, but not copyrighted, pun themed costumes:
It all starts with picking an object and then taking its name insanely literally. Let’s elaborate for all you folks at home. Take Hawaiian Punch for example— a delicious drink, but even more delicious costume. Let’s break down the name and build up our costume one by one. First you’ll start with your “Hawaiian” base. Get on a red tropical shirt, throw on a leigh, flip flops, perhaps even a hula skirt or two, then layer on the “punch” aspect and don some boxing gloves. (Extra points if you blacken one of your eyes with face paint.) While these aren’t the most straightforward costumes in the history of Halloween, seeing as you’ll continuously need to explain your attire as your friends get increasingly intoxicated, the select few individuals who’ll truly appreciate your effort to get creative on Halloween will make it all worth it.
But, as promised, here are a few of our favorite pun costumes for you to shamelessly copy this holiday:
- Gingerbread Man: This costume doesn’t take much. You’ll want to get yourself a red wig (and if you’re already a ginger this is infinitely easier), buy some bread from the super market (note to wearer: leave your vegan, gluten free, whole wheat, bread free bread at home, this costume calls for the big guns of bread) and then arrange the bags of bread across your shoulders. Who’s the gingerbread man now?!
- Bat-Man: This one’s pretty goofy, even for us. You’ll want to don an all black ensemble. Print out a yellow bootleg Batman logo, stick that to your chest, and then tape mini bats onto your clothing. We’re still laughing from this one!
- Chick Magnet: Last one, we promise! Go out and get yourself a huge plush magnet pillow that easily drapes around your shoulders, then hot glue some baby chicks onto the “magnets” of the pillow and you’re suddenly a chick magnet even though you can’t flirt to save your life.
You’ve Got to Have a Zombie:
What would Halloween be if you didn’t have the undead roaming the streets begging for some candy? (Which is generally what most look like during their morning commute, but begging for coffee instead.) While you can appreciate those eccentric characters that have fake blood dripping from every orifice of their body, that’s definitely not you. That’s definitely definitely not you. So, we’ve got the (much needed) alternative: our zombie-themed OppoSuits suits! These wild creations are fun in a way you’ve never seen before while staying true to the traditional blood and guts theme so many embrace on Halloween.
We’ve got two suits that fit this category for Halloweens men’s costumes ideas. Our most iconic is the Zombiac suit— a perfect mix of zombie and possible suit model. This ensemble is perfect for when you want to dress to impress but also need to be extra festive for your roommate’s girlfriend’s cousins Halloween party. So, skip the blood this Halloween, but don’t miss out on all the gore in one of our spooky Halloween OppoSuits.
Whether you simply wear a paper mask or build a twenty-pound monstrosity, we at OppoSuits wish you a happy and spoooooky Halloween.
P.S. if you already have an awesome Halloween costume then check out our Christmas suits so you’ll be ready when Santa’s coming.
